K.Flay (Kristine Meredith Flaherty) is an American songwriter, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist whose style mixes hip-hop, indie rock, and electronic music. She was born outside Chicago, IL in 1985. She started performing while a student at Stanford University in California. She began making a parody of misogynistic raps songs and discovered she enjoyed recording. She dropped her debut mixtape, 2004's laptop-recorded Suburban Rap Queen. K. Flay has received two Grammy nominations in 2018. Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical for her album, Every Where Is Some Where, and Best Rock Song, "Blood in the Cut".   Source: Billboard.com
