About Artist

Formed in 2013, The Academic is an indie rock band from Westmeath, Ireland. The band met in their young teens at St Joseph’s Secondary School in Rochfortbridge. The quartet is made up of Craig Fitzgerald, Dean Gavin, and brothers Matthew and Stephen Murtagh. Tales from the Backseat was their debut album released in January 2018 and entered the Official Irish Charts at number one.
