Taos’ vocals have a soft echo effect which sounds like he’s somewhat far away. The effect is a great symbol to the song as the lyric suggest there’s a distance between how he’s feeling and where he wants to be. The guitar hook sounds like an old 1950s love song that works well with the synthesizer.
Taos told Prizm news, “Loneliness” is a song I wrote when I was going through a really rough patch. I was in the midst of a bout of depression brought out by a stagnation of my career and wasn’t really leaving the house. It was winter, which made things worse. What really helped me feel better was remembering that career/music isn’t everything and appreciating the relationships around me, specifically that of my girlfriend at the time.
Based in Brooklyn, New York, Taos is a multi-instrumentalist who is a rising indie-pop artist. A lot of his focus as a youth was dedicated to soccer, but his passion transitioned to music.
